Milltek Sport Honda Civic Cup, Rounds 16 & 17,
Silverstone International Finale, 12-13 October 2024
By hemr2024
This wasn’t quite the way I wanted to end the season, but I’m coming away from the weekend with positives gained and more knowledge banked.
After a really positive day of testing on Friday, I went into qualifying with lots of confidence, but qualifying ended for me after about 5 laps in the gravel after the engine let go on me, for the second time in two rounds.
The Pro Alloys Racing Team did an amazing job in trying to get the car ready for the race, but I sadly missed out on the start of race 1 and had to settle for competing in race 2 only.
Race 1 – Did Not Start
Race 2 – P23 to P15
Race two saw me out on the grid with a standard engine, so I was lacking some power. However, I was determined and I pushed my way through the field, making up quite a few places, but with the standard engine I just couldn’t keep up with the pack in front in a straight line. Despite this, I was more than happy with the progress I made during the race and I am glad that I ended the season on a positive!
I want to say a big thank you to Pro Alloys Racing for their support throughout my first year in the civics and I can’t wait to go again in 2025.
I also want to extend a massive thank you to all my sponsors. I wouldn’t be on the grid without you.
