Milltek Sport Honda Civic Cup, Rounds 16 & 17,
Brands Hatch Indy, 22nd October 2023

What a great race weekend at Brands Hatch! After not sitting in a race car for about 3 months, I went into the weekend not expecting much, but as Friday came around, I had a successful test day getting to grips with the Honda Civic Type-R EP3.
Come Sunday morning and it was time for qualifying, which was on a still drying track. Therefore, I had to adapt to the conditions which saw me qualify P17 out of 23 competitors, which I was very happy with considering how little time I had spent in the car.
Leading up to starting race 1 in P17, I was a bit nervous having never done a race start in the Honda Civic Type-R before, but I managed to get off the line, albeit a little slowly, which dropped me a few positions. Then, after that, it was just the case of trying to keep up with the pack with a few overtakes throughout the race, which brought me to the end of my first race finishing P15 which I was over the moon with!
Going in to race 2 I started P15 and was hoping for a better start, so I decided to use more revs, but as the lights went out my start was even worse with lots of wheel spin which saw me drop down positions. However, I spent the rest of the race trying to get back to where I started with some overtakes and battles which saw me finish in P17.
Overall, it was a great weekend of learning and adapting to a new car and lots more power!
I want to send a massive thank you to @proalloysracing for providing me with a solid race car for the weekend, whilst mine is in build, and another big thank you for all the fantastic hospitality.
I also want to extend another big thank you to all my sponsors and family, because without them, this wouldn’t be happening.
I can’t wait to come back next year for a full season where I hope for some more learning and strong results.
